INSIGHT MEMORY CARE CENTER (formerly ALZHEIMER’S FAMILY DAY CENTER)

Insight Memory Care Center provides specialized care, support and education for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, their families, caregivers and the community through an adult day health and resource center.

Insight Memory Care Center plans to move to a larger facility where they can continue offering current services as well as new services. They are requesting a FUNDING STRATEGY project to plan for expanding services.

 

CASA FOR CHILDREN OF DC

CASA for Children of DC helps youth in foster care form permanent connections with caring adults, reside in stable living environments, take more responsibility for their decisions, and receive reinforcement for the positive decisions they make. CASA has recently redefined its strategic objectives to align with the changing needs of children and youth in DC’s foster care programs.

CASA is requesting a STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT project that will refine its strategic objectives and align those objectives with their organizational and funding structures.

 

CENTER FOR NONPROFIT ADVANCEMENT

The Center for Nonprofit Advancement strengthens, promotes and represents nonprofit organizations based in Greater Washington. The Center provides programs that build effectiveness and make connections to support growth and sustainability.

They have requested a BOARD DEVELOPMENT project to assess and further develop their board governance to support their business objectives, fundraising strategies, and strategic planning.

 

THE CHELSEA SCHOOL

The Chelsea School works to prepare middle school and high school students diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities for higher education. The school serves as the “last chance” for students who are failing out of public school due to learning-based issues, not behavioral challenges.

The Chelsea School is entering its second year with Compass in developing a STRATEGIC PLAN to help them expand their program and ensure long-term sustainability.  (Note: There will be spaces for a few new team members.)

 

COMMUNITY CRISIS SERVICES

CCS has requested a BOARD DEVELOPMENT project to help recruiting, maintaining and developing board members.

 

DC PROMISE NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE

The DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative coordinates the cradle-to-career pipeline of services for children and parents in Ward 7. DCPNI works to reform schools, train teachers, provide college awareness and preparation support, as well as wrap-around services including healthcare, financial literacy, home visits for pregnant mothers, adult education, and legal aid.

DCPNI has experienced a period of rapid growth from both an organizational and programmatic standpoint. They have requested a BOARD DEVELOPMENT project to help structure the Board for appropriate oversight, guidance and support.

 

DCTV (PUBLIC ACCESS CORPORATION OF DC)

DCTV is a membership-based, nonprofit, public access television network. Since 1988, DCTV has provided DC residents the opportunity to create and telecast their own shows on cable television, ensuring the presence of diverse cultural groups and ideas traditionally unheard or under-represented in the media.

DCTV is concerned about declining cable TV revenues. DCTV seeks to develop a diversified FUNDING STRATEGY to identify potential revenue sources including earned income ideas.

Easter Seals provides early childhood education, medical adult day services, respite care, therapy, family caregiver training, veteran employment services and wounded warrior support services to ensure that all people with disabilities or other special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.

Easter Seals requests Compass’ assistance in exploring and assessing potential STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION opportunities to expand in both current and new services.

Horton’s Kids seeks a FUNDING STRATEGY project to evaluate their overall fundraising activities with a focus on expanding their funding strategy beyond grants and corporate giving to earned income opportunities and individual giving.

 

HOUSING UNLIMITED

Housing Unlimited provides affordable, independent housing for adults with psychiatric disabilities in Montgomery County.  Housing Unlimited further supports its tenants through education and training programs on tenant and shared living responsibilities.

Housing Unlimited has requested a FUNDING STRATEGY project to expand current revenue streams, with a goal of growing its affordable housing program to meet the increasing demand for services.

With the likely changes in federal and state government funding, Linden Resources would like to develop a FUNDING STRATEGY for revenue diversification and fundraising expansion.

MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY

NATIONAL CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

NCCF provides early intervention programs for high-risk children and families in cases of  child abuse and neglect, school failure, drug abuse, cyclical poverty, welfare dependence, homelessness, crime, and violence.

Recently, NCCF acquired another nonprofit, the Neediest Kids (TNK) into their organization. NCCF seeks a STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT project to integrate TNK into its operations and leverage TNK’s services, fundraising capabilities, and board support.

  

NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION

The NTHP works to save America’s historic places for the next generation by taking direct, on-the-ground action when historic buildings and sites are threatened. The Trust owns or leases 21 sites.

The Compass project will work with five historic sites in DC on a STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS project to analyze existing business operations and earned income ventures and to make recommendations for new collaborative strategies.

The Center serves families and pregnant women with children ages birth through four years, providing education, family literacy, child development, employment readiness and links to community services.
