2013-14 Greater Philadelphia Classic Project Roster


Philadelphia, PA

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross serves nearly 4 million people in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The Red Cross provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of the armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving skills, and more. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free.

The American Red Cross has requested a BOARD DEVELOPMENT project to ensure that the board is operating with board best practices and that board members understand their responsibilities to the organization.


Chester County, PA

The Chester County OIC provides adult basic literacy education and life skills programs that prepare individuals for self-sufficiency and employment. Programs include Adult Workforce Literacy, Certified Nurse Aide Training, English as a Second Language, GED Prep, as well as career and vocational training programs and literacy instruction for developmentally disabled adults.

Chester County OIC has requested a BOARD DEVELOPMENT project. The project will address issues of board size, use of committees, board member engagement, and other board responsibilities.


Philadelphia, PA

Diversified provides leadership and services that strengthen the Point Breeze and surrounding communities’ efforts on behalf of children, youth and families, especially those that are most vulnerable.  Their vision is a diverse, prosperous, and vibrant Point Breeze community where all residents are treated with dignity and respect, and where the impacts of poverty are acknowledged and action is taken to empower those in need.

Diversified has requested a FUNDING STRATEGY project to help them develop a plan to diversify their sources of funding. This Fund Development Plan would address the key strategies of the organization. The project will also help the board and staff set and balance priorities and avoid competing timelines. 


Montgomery County, PA

The Women’s Center of Montgomery County is a volunteer, community organization with a primary focus on freedom from domestic violence and other forms of abuse.  The programs, policies and procedures reflect a strong commitment to empowering women.  The domestic violence program serves more than 4,000 victims each year and includes many services such as a crisis hotline, legal advocacy, counseling, emergency relocation funding, and prevention education and outreach.

The Women’s Center is requesting a STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT project to help the organization identify a common vision and clarify the values and services while strengthening and solidifying its current status as one of Pennsylvania’s leading domestic violence service providers and volunteer/membership organization.
