2018 MICRO PROJECT SERVICE LINES

We are offering four different Service Lines this year. Please note that the Micro Project scope will be more narrow than the broad Service Line descriptions outlined below.

BOARD DEVELOPMENT

The Compass team will help the organization develop a high-performing Board of Directors by examining industry best practices, assessing the current Board’s capabilities, structure, composition, and needs, and crafting a plan for improvement.

FUNDING STRATEGY

The Compass team will help the organization develop a plan to broaden or deepen its current sources of revenue and work toward long-term sustainability. The project will assess current revenue sources. The team will then develop an improvement plan based on best practices together with a tailored approach aligned with the organization’s mission, strategy, needs, and resources. Some projects assess earned income ventures.

STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT

The Compass team will work with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to help the client determine if its mission, programs, and resources are aligned. The team will provide answers to questions about the organization’s future strategy and the associated implementation priorities. NOTE: The project will not include implementation of the priority initiatives. The focus is on providing clarity and direction to guide the staff and board.

INCUBATOR

The Compass team will work with a small nonprofit to accelerate growth by addressing the client’s most pressing needs. Incubator projects provide volunteers a unique opportunity to engage in a meaningful way with a small and/or early stage nonprofit and have a significant impact on the trajectory of the organization.
