Patricia Ayres Crawford

Director of Philanthropy

Before becoming National Director of Philanthropy for Compass, Patricia was head of Advancement at the Aloha Foundation, a national operating foundation which runs youth development and summer camp programs in Vermont. While there she raised over $10M to expand scholarships and ease reliance on tuition. Earlier in her career, she collaborated on principal gifts at Dartmouth College where she was an executive director of a research center and adjunct professor.

An award-winning land conservationist, Patricia chaired The Trust for Public Land’s $2M Vermont-New Hampshire campaign to create a 1,000-acre community forest for public enjoyment and wildlife habitat while strengthening the local economy through timber-related jobs. When living in Los Angeles, she supported entrepreneurs as a volunteer faculty member for the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation. Her experience persuaded her to write a book about financing for small businesses. She also has served in leadership roles on several nonprofit and government boards.

Patricia co-owned a management consultancy whose clients included Microsoft, 3M, and P&G and held corporate management roles in marketing at King Arthur Baking Company, Wells Fargo, and Fidelity Investments. She earned her BA with honors in Classics from Stanford University and her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
