Wendy Gualtieri, Managing Director of On Board, has been with Compass Pro Bono since 2017. In her current role, she leads Compass’ board matching program, helping 80+ professionals join nonprofit boards each year. As part of Compass’s national team, Wendy works across all Compass cities supporting local nonprofits in building strong, strategic, and engaged boards.
Through On Board, Wendy advises nonprofits on board governance and culture, helping leaders think intentionally about refreshing their boards. She also leads trainings on the fundamentals of nonprofit board service, preparing prospective candidates for board service. In addition, Wendy leads the planning and execution of Compass Pro Bono’s annual On Course Summit for nonprofit leaders, shaping content strategy and programming and overseeing logistics and engagement nationally.
Wendy’s Compass Pro Bono journey began as a volunteer, leveraging her management consulting experience on three Compass consulting projects. Over her tenure on staff, she has helped launch several key initiatives, including the Low Bono Strategic Planning and the Nonprofit Board Training programs. In previous roles as Chief of Staff and Managing Director of The Sorkin Center, she partnered with program, development, and communications teams to expand capacity and create efficiencies.
Before joining Compass, Wendy worked at Deloitte, providing strategy and operations consulting services to clients in the Consumer Products and Financial Services industries. She led teams focused on process design and optimizing resources.
Wendy holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Miami University. She enjoys traveling with family and friends, especially to her favorite lakes of the Midwest, playing games and puzzles along the way.
