Lisa Gaffney, Director, Strategic Planning and On Demand has been with Compass Pro Bono since 2021. Lisa manages Compass’s On Demand and Low Bono Strategic Planning programs, helping nonprofits address their most pressing strategic challenges through customized consulting support.
She played a key role in launching Compass’s program in Minneapolis–St. Paul and expanding the Low Bono Strategic Planning program to reach more organizations across Compass’s markets. Before stepping into her current role, Lisa managed the Minneapolis–St. Paul program for its first two years and subsequently served as a Project Leader for Low Bono Strategic Planning projects. Her Compass journey began as an On Track Project Leader and On Demand volunteer after discovering Compass upon moving to the DC area.
Lisa brings over 20 years of experience as a banker and securities analyst on the sell-side and in institutional asset management, where she developed deep expertise in financial, organizational, and industry analysis. She later transitioned her focus to the nonprofit sphere out of a desire to use her expertise to help strengthen organizations in the sector, working in program management, development, and nonprofit strategy consulting.
Lisa received an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in economics from Duke University.
She starts every day with a mug or two of espresso and enjoys spending her free time with her husband, three sons, and granddaughter.
