Remy Reya, Director of AI & Thought Leadership, has been with Compass Pro Bono since 2021. In his current role, he oversees the development and execution of Compass Pro Bono’s artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, ensuring the technology’s thoughtful integration into organizational operations and helping the Compass Pro Bono team reclaim an average of 10-12 hours per week individually using AI tools. He also runs Compass Pro Bono’s new AI training/consulting program for nonprofits and frequently speaks about responsible AI adoption—most recently for the National Small Nonprofit Summit, the AI and Volunteering Summit, and several state and regional nonprofit associations. Remy also leads Compass Pro Bono’s thought leadership and nonprofit education initiatives.
Before taking on his current role, Remy served as a Strategy Fellow and later as Compass Pro Bono’s Deputy Chief of Staff. Prior to these roles, he spent 10+ years working on and studying homelessness, during which he witnessed up-close the structural barriers that nonprofits face in delivering on their missions. He was drawn to Compass Pro Bono’s mission to help small-but-mighty organizations overcome these challenges.
Remy received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Princeton University and an executive certificate in Responsible AI Deployment from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. His social impact work has been supported by several awards and programs, including Princeton University’s Emerging Leaders Fellowship and Project 55 Fellowship. Outside of work, Remy is an avid audiobook listener and occasional drummer for an indie rock band.
