Kristin McKenna is the Executive Director at Compass Pro Bono Philadelphia, leading the organization’s work across the region since joining in 2025. In this role, she serves as the public face of Compass Pro Bono in Greater Philadelphia, building brand recognition, deepening partnerships, and securing the funding that fuels Compass’s mission. Kristin works to position Compass as the go-to capacity-building partner for local nonprofits and is the go-to partner for companies and skilled professionals eager to make a meaningful difference in their community.
Part entrepreneur, part fundraiser, part volunteer recruiter, part brand ambassador, and part growth strategist, Kristin leads the development and execution of a vision to optimize Compass’s impact across Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware. She is responsible for raising the resources needed to sustain and expand programming, partnering closely with the Compass Philadelphia Board so it can thrive in its ambassadorial role. Over the next three years, she is excited to drive a bold vision: serving more than 100 nonprofit clients, nearly doubling both revenue and the number of volunteers, and significantly increasing Compass’s regional visibility.
Kristin’s connection to Compass Pro Bono began when she served on the board of a Compass client, an experience that sparked her interest in the organization’s unique model. She was drawn to the opportunity to expand the communities touched by her work in the nonprofit sector and to focus on building relationships with institutional supporters, donors, volunteers, and nonprofits. She thrives on connecting people with meaningful volunteer and philanthropic opportunities and on gathering and generating resources that drive social impact. She loves that no two days at Compass look the same.
Before joining Compass Pro Bono, Kristin served as Vice President of The Forum of Executive Women, where she played a key role in advancing the organization’s mission of promoting women’s leadership and equity in the workplace across the Philadelphia region. Earlier, she spent nearly 15 years as a tax attorney at a Philadelphia law firm and began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in its Assurance and Business Advisory Services practice.
Kristin received her B.S. in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University and her J.D., MBA, and LL.M. in Tax from Temple University. She has served on the Board of Need in Deed for five years, previously served on the Board of MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company for seven years, and has contributed her time on the planning committee for Cheers for CHOP.
Outside of work, Kristin is an avid runner who relishes the challenge of training for half marathons and 10-mile races. She enjoys traveling with her husband and four children, and her favorite place to be is on the beach with a good book, watching the rest of her family surf.
