Martin Ludden is the Managing Director for the Twin Cities at Compass Pro Bono. He joined Compass in 2025 and leads the organization’s work across Minneapolis–St. Paul, helping local nonprofit leaders tackle strategic challenges by connecting them with teams of skilled business professionals.
In his role, Martin builds relationships with nonprofit executives, board members, and community partners to understand their most pressing needs and match them with the right volunteer talent. His Compass journey began on the other side of the table, as a volunteer on a strategic alignment project for Urban Boatbuilders in St. Paul. After working with the organization to strengthen its partnership pipeline, he was inspired by both the mission and the model and now serves as Vice Chair of Urban Boatbuilders’ Board of Directors.
Before joining Compass Pro Bono, Martin held leadership and external-facing roles across the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served for six years as Executive Director of St. Paul Neighborhood Network, where he worked to expand access to community media and elevate local voices. Earlier in his career, he served on the staff of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, worked in community relations for Comcast, and spent nearly ten years in the U.S. Army Reserve, bringing a public service mindset and collaborative approach to each role.
Martin earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management from Metropolitan State University.
An almost lifelong resident of St. Paul, Martin and his wife are raising their two boys in the city he’s proud to call home. Most weekends, you can find him on a soccer field, either watching or playing, or making music with friends.
