Robert Davis

Robert Davis is the Program Data Manager at Compass Pro Bono and has been with the organization since 2022. In this role, he stewards Compass’s data infrastructure and analytics, handling everything from day-to-day database maintenance and data visualizations to high-level strategy that helps the organization deepen its impact across communities.

Robert has led several key initiatives to strengthen Compass’s use of data. After the organization finalized its new strategic vision, he redesigned the metrics Compass tracks to better align with that vision and is currently piloting long-term survey outreach to better capture the sustained impact of Compass’s work. He also oversaw the transition to a comprehensive nonprofit and volunteer engagement platform, eliminating the need for manual data manipulation and freeing staff to focus more on mission-critical work. Robert first joined Compass as Program Data Coordinator, a role he held for just under a year before stepping into his current position.

Before joining Compass, Robert worked as a data analyst in the Office of the Registrar at American University’s Washington College of Law. There, he supported the daily administration of the law school’s operations while researching ways to improve student success in law school and beyond. His contributions informed the creation of the Office of Academic Excellence, which now houses the law school’s academic advisors, and advanced the Washington College of Law’s mission to expand access to legal education for students who might be overlooked by more traditional pathways. Robert holds a master’s degree in public policy from American University.

Across his career, Robert has been motivated by a commitment to using data not just to measure outcomes, but to expand opportunity, an approach he brings to every analysis, dashboard, and survey he designs at Compass Pro Bono.
